Weekend Course 2008

18th-19th October, Bristol

The RSCM Millennium Youth Choir’s Autumn Weekend will be held in Bristol, when we will be singing for a live broadcast of BBC Radio 4's Sunday Worship from St Augustine's Chapel at St Monica's Home in North Bristol, which enjoys a fabulous acoustic and wonderful organ. The MYC will also give an early evening concert at the chapel and will record some pieces for broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in April next year, at the start of the MYC's Easter Course.

Accommodation is in twin rooms at the Bristol Cribbs Causeway Premier Inn. A packed lunch and supper on Saturday, and breakfast and brunch on Sunday are included. David Ogden conducts, Daniel Moult is the organist and the vocal coach is Hilary Llystyn Jones.

The course fee is £85. Please read Terms & Conditions of booking

A limited number of bursaries are available from the RSCM. If you need to apply for a bursary, please do so as soon as possible, and use the new form available by clicking here >

Getting there

By train, you can travel to either Bristol Temple Meads or Parkway station. Temple Meads is closer, about 4 miles away, so aim to arrive by 10am. The journey from Parkway to Westbury-on-Trym isn't really bus-friendly, so you'd probably need to get a taxi. From Temple Meads you can catch the number 1 bus which goes to Westbury-on-Trym (or get a taxi). If you let us know when your train gets in then we can put you in touch with other people so you can share a taxi. If you need any information about how to get there give us a call.

By car, the nearest motorway junction is junction 17 of the M5 motorway (Cribbs Causeway). After about 3 miles you get to the top of a hill. There is a long wall on both sides, and then a sign for St Ursula's School on the left hand side.

As you go round the bend to the right, turn right into the driveway, then immediately take the left fork. Park in the visitors' car park and buzz at the main entrance to ask for directions to the chapel.

If you come to another roundabout you've gone too far.
